Destiny 2 Arc 3.0 Explained – Aspects, Fragments, Supers

With the new Season of the Plunder in Destiny 2, Bungie is redoing the Arc subclass. Arc 3.0 is all about chaining abilities, movement, and a lot more. Aside from the usual Aspect/Fragments, Bungie has also given Hunters a new Super, a bunch of Melee Abilities for other classes, etc. In this Destiny 2 guide, we have detailed all there is to learn about Arc 3.0, Aspects, and Fragments.

Destiny 2 Arc 3.0

Before we start, there are a couple of terminologies that you should be familiar with. These are:

  • Amplified: It is a buff that provides increased speed, handling, and boosts abilities. It also grants damage resistance while sprinting.
  • Jolt: It is a debuff that chains Arc damage to nearby enemies.
  • Blind: Another debuff that disorients enemies.
  • Ionic Traces: Once collected, these provide energy to all abilities.

Hunter

Hunters have a new Super called Gathering Storm. It is similar to Fanatic from The Hallowed Lair. Once used, you will toss your Spear into the ground or into a boss. It will continue to get overcharged and damage all nearby enemies. Oh, and Hunters also got Blink back.

Aspects

There are 3 Aspects in total for Hunters. These are:

AspectEffect
Flow StateYou become Amplified after defeating a Jolted target. While you are Amplified, you will get better reload speed, increased Dodge recharge rate, and damage resistance.
Tempest StrikeIt is a sliding melee that launches an Arc wave. This wave deals some damage and Jolts targets.
Lethal CurrentDodging grants increased melee lunge range and Jolts targets – hitting a Jolted target blinds it. When used during the Arc Staff, the next melee after a dodge hits 2 times.

Warlock

When it comes to Warlock, Bungie has combined top-and-bottom-tree Stormcaller. You will also have 2 new Melee Abilities: Ball of Lightning and Chain Lightning.

Aspects

Warlock also has 3 Aspects to its name. These are:

AspectEffect
Arc SoulCasting a rift creates an Arc Soul that aids you in battle. Allies who pass through the rift also get Arc Souls. While you are Amplified, the Arc Souls gets Overcharged and shoots at a faster RoF.
Lightning SurgeYou can melee while sliding to transform into a ball of lightning that teleports forward and hurls lightning bolts at the exit point where it Jolts all nearby targets.
Electrostatic MindDefeating targets using Arc-abilities or who are under the effects of Arc-debuff lets you create Ionic Trances. Collecting these lets you become Amplified

Titan

Titans got a new movement tech called Thruster. It propels you forward with the press of a button, similar to Hunter Dodge. Seismic Strike will not blind enemies. And there is also a new melee called Thunderclap that you can charge and it can one-shot a Guardian in PvP once it reaches 90%.

Aspects

Lastly, we have got Titans who also have a total of 3 Aspects, including a fan-favorite from D1:

AspectEffect
Touch of ThunderThis one improves Arc grenades such as Pulse, Storm, Lightning, and Flashbang.
JuggernautSprinting with 100% Class Power creates a frontal shield that blocks incoming damage. This shield is even stronger while you are Amplified However, once depleted, you lose all the Class Power.
KnockoutDefeating enemies with melee replenishes HP. Aside from this, you also become Amplified Depleting shield of a targets increases range/damage of the melee. While it is active, the base melee becomes Arc-empowered.

Fragments

In addition to changes outlined above, there are a few Fragments to play with. These are:

FragmentEffect
Spark of BeaconsWhile you are Amplified, kills with Arc-based Special Weapons create a blinding explosion.
Spark of ResistanceIncreased damage resistance while surrounded by enemies.
Spark of MomentumSliding over ammo reloads your weapons. It also provides a small amount of melee energy.
Spark of ShockAll of the Arc grenades Jolt enemies.

Do note that there are additional Fragments that we will add once Season of the Plunder is live.

This is all we have got in our Destiny 2 Arc 3.0 guide. Be sure to see our detailed Destiny 2 guides page for more help on the game.
