What is the next best thing that you can do while not trying to come up with ways to stop the Witness annihilating the Sol. in Destiny 2? Fishing. And while you are fishing across the Solar System, there is no better feeling than reeling in one of the three Exotic Fish in the game. One such Exotic Fish, the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, can be a real pain to catch. But fret not as in this Destiny 2 guide, we have some tips that will help you complete your collection, become the Aquanaut in the process, and unlock the new Wicked Implement exotic.
Destiny 2 Aeonian Alpha-Betta Exotic Fish
To begin your search for the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, you need to head to the European Dead Zone (EDZ). Once there, head over to the Fishing Pond in Outskirts. Look for a blue beam marking it. There should also be one or more players in the area fishing already.
Catching the Aeonian Alpha-Betta is all a game of luck. However, there are certain strategies you can employ to increase your chances of success. One such strategy is to focus on the Fishing Meter. The Fishing Meter is a gauge that improves your odds of catching higher-quality fish when more players catch Legendary or Exotic in a Fishing Spot. Therefore, it is beneficial to find an area where other players are actively fishing.
While a high Fishing Meter can improve your chances, it is not necessary to have it at maximum capacity to catch Exotic Fish. I personally have caught a couple of Exotic Fish with a partially filled Fishing Meter.
It is also important to note that Public Events reset the Fishing Pond, forcing you to start over.
H.E.L.M. Aquarium
Once you successfully catch the Aeonian Alpha-Betta, head to the H.E.L.M. and deposit the fish in the aquarium. Depositing the Aeonian Alpha-Betta will grant you an Exotic Armor and the Broken Blade of Cunning.
The Broken Blade of Cunning is a part of a set of Broken Blades that players must collect and utilize to unlock a hidden questfor the Wicked Implement Exotic mission.
