Ir Yût is the very first boss you will come across in the reprised Crota’s End in Destiny 2. Similar to earlier encounters, defeating Ir Yût, the Deathsinger revolves around using the Enlightened buff to drop her shield before damaging her. She does not have a lot of HP so it should not be hard to easily one-phase her as long as people do not lack in damage. In this guide, we have detailed everything you need to know about defeating Ir Yût, the Deathsinger in Destiny 2: Crota’s End.
Defeat Ir Yût in Destiny 2: Crota’s End
Before we begin, please do note that the guide assumes you already understand different mechanics in Crota’s End i.e. Chalice of Light, Enlightened, Expunge, etc. If you do not, we recommend reading The Abyss and Bridge guides first.
To begin the encounter, defeat the two Knights in the area. After you have cleared the area, the Shriekers on the floor above will open.
You will also see the Chalice of Light in the middle of the area. You will need to use it to Enlighten at least three players in the team. While all of this is happening, one player will need to roam around the area to peek inside the rooms with green forcefields.
There are seven such rooms scattered in the area. You can label them however your team prefers. We have found the directions to be the simplest.
- Left Tower
- Right Tower
- Spawn — Left, Middle, Right

When scanning the rooms, you will need to identify the ones with a Shieldsinger Wizard inside. Once done, you will need to relay this information to the Enlightened teammates.
These people will then need to head inside these rooms and defeat all the Shieldsinger Wizards at almost the same time. This is because the moment a Shieldsinger Wizard is defeated, the entire team will get the Dark Liturgy debuff for 45 seconds.
You will need to damage Ir Yût in these 45 seconds, however, in order to drop her shield, you must defeat all the Shieldsinger Wizards in the area — this is why you must kill them at the same time. Also, you must damage her enough or she will wipe the entire team.
Once your 45 seconds are over, you will need to repeat the entire thing once more. However, after every DPS phase, Ir Yût spawns an additional Shieldsinger Wizard. Also, if you have an extra Enlightened, you should be able to Expunge her to deal around 2.5 percent of her HP.
Lastly, if you are unable to see Shieldsinger Wizards in the rooms, you should be able to use something like Wishender or True Sight to see them through walls. In case you see a Shrieker in these rooms, do note that it is a wrong room and you need to avoid it.
Best DPS Options
Ir Yût does not have a whole lot of HP so there are a lot of things that can one-phase her. However, since she moves a lot, you will need to have a Divinity to be able to land your shots.
