Dead Space was loved by many gamers when it was released in 2008. After the success of the original Dead Space, a remake was released in 2023 with a new ending, enhanced graphics, and some extra features. The story of Dead Space Remake is slightly different from the Original Dead Space. This walkthrough will allow you to know the secret ending of Dead Space.

Unlocking this ending is not a piece of cake, as you must replay the game in New Game Plus mode. The difficulty is hard, dealing with enemies with strong attacks and defense, and new resources must be collected to trigger the secret ending.

After finishing the campaign, a New Game Plus mode will be available to play. This is the first prerequisite to unlock the secret ending of Dead Space Remake. Remember, you need 12 Marker Fragments before the game ends. These 12 Marker Fragments collectibles will unlock the secret ending of Dead Space Remake.

Marker Fragments Locations

The 12 Marker Fragment’s locations are the following:

  1. The first marker can be found in Chapter 1. To find the first marker go inside the maintenance Bay Office and find the Data Board. Once you are here, look for a shelf inside and next to the Data Board. Melee the shelf, and you will find the first Marker Fragment.
  2. The second marker can be found in Chapter 2. Inside Dr. Kyne’s office, there is another shelf. Use Kinesis to move it, and you will be able to find the second Marker Fragment.
  3. The third marker can be found in Chapter 3. In this chapter, you will encounter many engines. Keep looking for a sign which says, “Power Sub-Station 03.” Go behind this area, and in a corner, you will find the third Fragment.
  4. The fourth marker can be found in Chapter 4. You will notice a door labeled “Break Room.” When you reach the room, you will find a circle of candles. You will find the fourth Marker Fragment near the candles.
  5. The fifth marker can be found in Chapter 5. You will find two Marker Fragments in this chapter. Head to Dr. C. Merver’s office and go inside. Inside the office, the fifth Marker Fragment can be found on the desk.
  6. The sixth marker can also be found in Chapter 5. Go to the cryogenic freezing chamber once you have locked the hunter in the cryogenic pod. The sixth Marker Fragment is sitting on the top of the cryogenic chamber. Use the Kinesis ability to get it.
  7. The seventh marker can be found in Chapter 6. The sixth Marker Fragment is stuck in a corner near the east grow chamber. You will also find Wheezer 06. the best way to get this Marker Fragment, start the Wheezer 07 objective.
  8. The eighth marker can be found in Chapter 7. During finding the SOS Beacon, you will start to clear different levels of securities. When you are promoted to the third level of Security Clearance. Head to Mineral Processing Area. Here you will find the eighth Marker Fragment sitting on the shelf.
  9. The ninth marker can be found in Chapter 8. On the left side of the wall, with a graphic of the Communication Control Panel, there is an infected part of the wall. The ninth Marker Fragment will be inside of it.
  10. The tenth marker can be found in Chapter 10. Just like in Chapter 5, you will also be able to find two Marker Fragments in Chapter 10. To get the Marker Fragment, destroy the growths and get access to the elevator. Once you have restored the power, go to Level B, and use Circuit Breaker to open the doors. Head to the lowest Deluxe Shift Bunks, and you will find the tenth Marker Fragment.
  11. The eleventh marker can also be found in Chapter 10, speak with Terence Kyne. After the end of the conversation, he will give you access to the Inquiry Desk. The eleventh Marker Fragment will be found near a wine bottle on a desk
  12. The twelfth marker can be found in Chapter 11. It would be best if you moved the marker to unlock Cargo Bay on the Cargo Deck. The last Marker Fragment will sit on a 3-tier shelf southeast of the room.

Once you have collected all the 12 Marker Fragments, head to the Executive Quarters. In this office, there will be a table of twelve pedestals. Place the Marker Fragments one by one on the pedestal. It will allow unlocking the secret ending of Dead Space Remake.
