Dead Island 2 Best Curveballs To Get First

Dead Island 2 introduces Curveballs and they live up to their name. These items are extremely powerful and useful when Carla, Jacob, Bruno, Dani, Ryan, and Amy are fighting off hordes of zombies. Curveballs are basically throwables such as grenades, Molotov, etc. but with a twist. In total, there seem to be over 15 Curvballs you can use in Dead Island 2 but which ones are the best? In this guide, we will break down the best Curveballs in Dead Island 2 and where to find them.

Best Curveballs in Dead Island 2

  • Meat Bait
  • Military Grenade
  • Molotov Cocktail
  • Caustic-X Bomb

Meat Bait

Meat Bait aka Bait Bomb makes its return in Dead Island 2. It was one of the most popular curveballs in Dead Island so developers have made it even better in the second game. Meat Bait can be used as a defensive and offensive tool. When it explodes a lot of flesh, blood, and bones are splattered around to attack hordes of zombies. You can then use this opportunity for a surprise attack or be defensive and sneak past them.

Consider the surroundings and choose the appropriate location and time to throw it to get the maximum benefit. When throwing the meat bait, make sure you have a clear idea of your escape route. You don’t want to be stuck in the middle of a horde of zombies with no way out.

While the meat bait can be used to sneak past zombies, it can also attract more than you can handle. So be prepared to fight if things get out of hand.

Where to Get Meat Bait: You can Meat Bait from Dougie in the hotel on Ocean Avenue at the start of The Search for Truth quest.

Military Grenade

Military Grenades are the perfect offensive tool when dealing with more zombies than you can handle on your own. What makes it great is that it can detonate on contact which means you can throw it directly at the horde and it will explode immediately.

Aim for the center of the horde: When using a military grenade, try to aim for the center of the horde to maximize the damage. This can help take out a large number of zombies in one go.

If you’re feeling particularly chaotic, follow up with a Military Grenade after lighting the zombies on fire with a Molotov Cocktail.

Molotov Cocktail

What makes Molotov Cocktail one of the best curveballs in Dead Island 2? It’s insane fire damage. It literally runs the flesh off of zombies and as I said, if you combine it with a Military Grenade or even a Nail Bomb, the destruction is pure eye candy. I found Molotov Cocktails to be really effective against Riot Gear Walkers and even better against normal zombies. Bigger and tougher zombies take a lot of damage from Molotov Cocktails but you need a Nail or Military Bomb to finish them off.

Caustic-X Bomb

Caustic-X Bomb is the most satisfying Curveball in Dead Island 2. The best part about this Curvball is that it is even better at melting zombies than a Molotov Cocktail. Caustic-X Bombs release Caustic energy that melts zombies in a matter of seconds and it is amazing to watch thanks to the game’s FLESH system.
