GYAO is essentially a Tamagotchi mini-game in Dave the Diver. You can access this mini-game from Dave’s phone but it is not available from the get-go. In this Dave the Diver guide, we go over how you can unlock the GYAO app and how you can take care of the Tamagotchi.
How To Unlock GYAO In Dave The Diver
To unlock the GYAO mini-game in Dave the Diver, you need to complete the Stormy Night side mission for Sato. During this mission, you will enter a vortex and will need to defeat a boss. After you have defeated the boss the GYAO app will be unlocked in Dave’s phone.
How To Care For The GYAO
The following is what you need to know about taking care of the Tamagotchi in the GYAO app.
Meals
Food will make the fish happy and you can check the hunger level in the management. tab. The amount of portions that you have given will be displayed on the screen.
Snacks
Snacks will not increase food but they will increase affection. This is one way of getting hearts without having to complete the shell mini-game. Eating lollies makes Gyao like you more.
Play
Similar to snacks, play allows you to increase the affection level as well. There is a shells mini-game in which you need to find the pearl hidden under one of the shells.
Clean
You will need to use the clean option if the environment of the GYAO is dirty. You will need to do this from time to time in order to take proper care of it.
Heal
If a purple skull appears on the screen then the GYAO needs treatment. Press the medicine button to cure it.
Turn Off The Lights
You will need to manage the lighting to make sure that the GYAO has a good night’s sleep. Make sure to turn off the light in the evening before heading over to the sushi bar.
Warning Tab
This is not a button but when the GYAO has an issue this tab will light up. This will generally happen if you overlook any of the above-mentioned factors.
Discipline
If you experience unusual sounds from the GYAo but it is clean, fed, and happy then you need to press the Discipline button. This will increase its level of training. This will decrease the next day, so you will need to do this regularly to keep the GYAO highly trained.
Additional Tips
If you want to take a break from playing the GYAO mini-game then you can turn off notifications for the minigame. Furthermore, you can find your previous GYAO in the memories section. You can visualize the progress you are making by checking out the management tab which will give you stats such as age and weight of the Gyao.
GYAO Evolution
What your GYAO turns into will depend on Food, Affection, and discipline. The general evolution is from roe to fry to small fish to either docile yellow fish (high affection) or ferocious blue fish (no affection) and then the final evolution. If the affection of the small fish is 3-4 then it turns into a yellow fish otherwise it evolves into a blue fish.
There are 14 GYAO variations that can be divided into docile and ferocious. Two evolutions can take place from already mature GYAO. The Beluga turns into a Whale Shark but if must be fully trained before the age of 9 otherwise it will die. Similarly, the Lemon Shark must be fully trained before the age of 12 to evolve into an Orca.
