CDPR has changed the PC requirement to run Cyberpunk 2077 with its upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty. The official Twitter account mentioned that the pre-orders for Phantom Liberty are now live and that the PC requirements for the base game have been changed as well. They are pretty high, indeed.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty PC Requirements Updated
CDPR has provided a detailed breakdown of the PC requirements for playing Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty at different resolutions and settings, with and without Ray Tracing. You can check out the breakdown of the PC requirements below:
The minimum requirements to run the game at 1080p 30 FPS is an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon RX 580 8GB with an Intel i7 6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 with 12GB of RAM. So if you have a graphics card with less than 6GB of VRAM, you might not be able to play the game with a decent experience. RIP to all of you out there with a GTX 1060 3GB or RX 570 4GB.
Furthermore, to play the game at 1080p 60 FPS, the most common resolution and framerate, you will need an Intel i7 12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7800 CPU paired with either an Nvidia RTX 2060 Super or AMD Radeon RX 7500 XT with 16 GB of RAM. The RAM requirement is pretty standard, but the graphics card requirement seems pretty high, keeping in mind this is 1080p 60 FPS.
At the other end of the spectrum, we have RT Overdrive, and the PC requirement to run Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty with Ray Tracing Overdrive is so high that I imagine only a small percentage of people are going to experience it. You will need an Intel i9 12900 or AMD Ryzen 9 7900X CPU paired with an Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics card and a whopping 24 GB of RAM.
It is safe to assume that most people are going to stick with 1080p, while some might be able to run the game at 1440p. Very few people will be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty with Ray Tracing Overdrive.
