Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty adds a lot of new content including a new area called Dogtown. The expansion also adds two new dynamic world events and one of them is Airdrop. Once you start the expansion, you will be introduced to the event but it is easy to skip by if you are rushing to complete the main missions. We recommend completing these when possible since they can be very rewarding and even give you Tier 5 loot. In this Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty guide, we go over how you can complete the Airdrop events.

How To Complete Airdrop Dynamic World Event In Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

The Airdrop event comprises the cargo drops that have coloured smoke coming out of them. Very similar to the crates that drop from planes in PUBG. These are meant for the Brashest but you can intercept them and claim the loot inside for yourself. You need to hack the Airdrop to claim the rewards and take out enemies that are defending it. If you are lucky you can even get Tier 5 rewards.

Note that this event is exclusive to Dogtown, so you will not have access to it if you have not bought Phantom Liberty. The Airdrop events have different variations and each one is more difficult that the previous. As you can imagine, the harder the Airdrop even the better loot you get at the end. The following are the different variations of the Airdrop dynamic event:

  • Retake – only a few enemies
  • Shootout – a lot enemies swarming the drop zone
  • Ambush – drop zon is empty but you are ambushed by enemies
  • Grab – beat enemies to the loot
  • Custom – dedicated narrative elements and backstory

Once you have looted the airdrop, you will be rewarded with skill progression shards, cyberware capacity shards, and high-level weapons and armor. So while this activity can be difficulty, we recommend checking it out.
