CD Project RED is sure that the studio will be able to hit the September release date of Cyberpunk 2077. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, there are some parts of the game’s development that are affected.

According to  SVP of business development Michal Nowakowski, developers are working hard to deliver a quality product but some elements may have to be added with a day-one update. To be more specific, he stated that some missing voice-over lines might be added as part of the day one patch for Cyberpunk 2077.

There are some difficulties with the localization process, specifically with recording some of the actors. Most of the studios are closed down right now, at least for the time being. However, we have managed to record the vast majority of the voice-overs, but there are always some last pick-up sessions, and we’re not very worried about that because that’s something we can record even later and add in the form of a digital patch, so by the moment the customers will actually buy the game in September they would just download a file which would add the missing pieces of recordings, but that process has been hampered a little bit.

The COVID 19 crisis has hampered some development processes but nothing that can’t be handled with Cyberpunk 2077 day one patch. Nowakowski explained all that’s left to do now is to polish the game and get the first-party certification.  The game is “incomplete form,” he said. Close to 150 people are QA testing Cyberpunk 2077 as we speak. Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release in September for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Expect a PS5 and Xbox Series X version later on.
