No matter how simple it may seem, the recently released Craftopia can get pretty complex with all the mechanics and systems that it throws your way. However, there are some things that you can start from the get-go to make sure that your experience is as smooth as it can get. In this guide, we’ve detailed some handy tips and tricks for beginners that will make your Craftopia experience a whole lot better.
Craftopia Beginners Tips and Tricks to Get You Started
Firstly, remember that Craftopia is still in Early Access with work being done on its multiplayer, localization, bug fixes, and other aspects. It’s entirely possible to come across a bug or two during your playthrough of the game. We’ve compiled a list of commonly-occurring errors and their possible fixes in a guide that you can check. If you’re having trouble changing the game’s language, we’ve got a simple fix for that as well.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about some tips and tricks that will make your Craftopia experience a little better.
Experience is the Key
Almost everything in Craftopia is level-gated. As you progress through the game, you’ll continue to earn XP and unlock a bunch of different stuff along the way. Keeping this in mind, it’s recommended that you engage in combat, craft different items, explore, etc. Remember that the more XP you get in the early game, the better you’ll be.
Teleportation Gates are Helpful
One important thing to keep in mind is to build near Teleportation Gates. Craftopia’s world is massive and you’ve got the complete liberty to roam around any of the islands after unlocking the second map but that doesn’t mean you’ll be required to build over and over again. Regardless of where you decide to build, you’ll always be able to roam around the world and return to your base.
Take on Dungeons
There are a few different types of dungeons in Craftopia – some filled with mobs and some only offering puzzles. Regardless of what lies inside a dungeon, you should always try to complete them since they can provide an increase in HP, stamina, etc. Also, remember that dungeons also tend to hide valuable loot. Therefore, once you’re done with a dungeon, don’t immediately take the exit portal and take some time to explore the area to come across some valuable rewards.
One important thing to keep in mind is that some monsters such as skeletons and goblins only spawn during nighttime. This will come into play after you manage to unlock the second map. This should allow you to farm for your desired enemies if you’re specifically looking for a resource such as seeds, etc.
Infinite Resources Farm
While exploring the world, you’ll come across greyish squares on the map. These squares mark infinite nodes in the world that you can mine indefinitely without having to worry about them running out of resources. Finding these nodes should completely negate the need to find smaller resource nodes over and over again.
Taming animals in the game is directly related to acquiring batteries. To tame an animal, you’re required to build a Monster Prism that requires 3x Iron Ingot and 2x Sand. Once crafted, you’ll need to corner the monster and then catch it. To read more about how to catch animals in Craftopia, you can check out our detailed guide.
