Try These Company of Heroes 3 Crash Fixes

PC players are mostly experiencing the Bugsplat error crash at startup, and for some players, Company Of Heroes 3 crashes when they try to load the campaign. The following fixes for the Company Of Heroes 3 crash at startup and Bugsplat error.

Bugsplat, Crash At Startup Fix

PC players report that Company of Heroes 3 is not launching when they hit play, crash at startup, or try to load a campaign. The following fixes will help you with this issue.

Delete Company of Heroes 3 Folder

For those players who cannot load up the campaign, go to Documents > My Games and delete the Company Of Heroes 3 and Company of Heros 3-CohDev folders. Launch Company of Heroes 3, load a campaign, and the game won’t crash. Your in-game settings will reset after this.

Update GPU Driver

Another reason why Company Of Heroes 3 is crashing at startup with a Bugsplat error is your GPU driver. You are either using an old driver version, or some driver files are corrupt. In any case, update your GPU driver and do a clean installation so that previous driver settings can’t mess with the game and cause the game to crash.

Disable Fullscreen Optimizations

Right-click Company Of Heroes 3 in Steam library > Manage > Browse Local files. An explorer Window will open containing games files. Right-click the game’s executable > properties > Compatibility tab > check “Disable Fullscreen optimization” and apply changes. Launch the game, and it won’t crash at startup.

Crash Fix

Company Of Heroes 3 players report that the game crashes randomly while playing. For some players, the game crashes when they try multiplayer. Players also report rashes when playing the game on Linux using Proton. The following fixes will help with the in-game crashing issue.

Input Commands Under Launch Options

This crash fix is for those players running the game on Linux using Proton. Right-click Company Of Heroes 3 in Steam library > properties > General tab. Type the following command under Launch options if you are experiencing crashes in single-player.

PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%

Paste ucrtbase.dll In System32

If you are experiencing multiplayer desync or crashes while playing Company Of Heroes 3 multiplayer on Proton, here is the fix. Download vc_redist.x64.exe from this link. Make a new Folder on your Desktop and paste vc_redist.x64.exe into that folder. Right-click the folder, open the Command Prompt Tool and run the ‘cabextract vc_redist.x64.exe’ command. You’ll get some files, and one of them is A10. Now run ‘cabextract a10’ command, and you’ll get some .dll files. Copy the ucrtbase.dll file, right-click Company Of Heroes 3 in Steam library > Manage > Browse Local files. Now navigate back to steamapps > compatdata > “folder with random number ID”> pfx > drive_C > Windows > System32 and paste the ucrtbase.dll file here and select replace the file if asked. For the folder with a random number ID, change the folder ID to 1677280. Launch the game and play multiplayer without any crashes.
