No Metro System In Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

While there are mods on PC that enable the train system in Cyberpunk 2077, it is not an official feature. Rumors speculated that the feature might be added in a future update, and it got a lot of attention on Reddit.

Global Community Director at CDPR, Marcin Momot, has provided some clarification and mentioned that the metro system is not going to be added in Cyberpunk 2077 in any future patch. The following is what he had to say regarding the matter:

A word of clarification on this topic as many people have been tagging me since yesterday. Nothing has changed regarding the metro system in Cyberpunk 2077 – we do not plan on adding it in the future.

In the comments section of the Twitter post, a player asked about technical limitations that kept the developers from adding the metro mod to the game. He noted that the next-generation update of The Witcher 3 had some amazing community mods were added to the game. Miles Tost, Level Design Lead at CDPR, chimed in and mentioned the following regarding the Metro mod not being added to Cyberpunk 2077:

In W3 we collaborated closely with modders, but that doesn’t mean we just took their mods, added them to the game and called it a day. Lots of testing and polishing went into those to make it work well and consistently for all platforms.

The metro system was a cool feature that was scrapped, and fans hoped that it could one day be added to the game, but that does not seem to be the case.
