Intel CPU shipment delays have been a problem for some time now and it seems that the issue not going to be resolved any time soon. In parts of the world, customers are unable to get their hands on the Intel CPUs that they want. This has made an opening for AMD and we have seen plenty of people make the shift from Intel to AMD in the recent few months. Michelle Johnston Holthaus, the Executive Vice President, General Manager, Sales, Marketing and Communications Group at Intel apologized for the CPU shipment delays that customers are facing. Here is what she had to say regarding the matter: I’d like to acknowledge and sincerely apologize for the impact recent PC CPU shipment delays are having on your business and to thank you for your continued partnership. I also want to update you on our actions and investments to improve supply-demand balance…

Sony’s PlayStation 5 is a hot topic of debate for a few months now, and we head closer to release we see more information pop-up. Not all of it is official and some of it depends on our own interpretations and speculations, especially when it comes to newly filed patents. Sony Interactive Entertainment has been very active recently when it comes to filing patents and every now and then a patent gives us a hint at what the future holds for PlayStation and PlayStation Network. Sony Interactive Entertainment filed a patent at the United States Patent Office on November 21, 2019. The patent in questions, when discussed alongside previously leaked social elements of PS5, further indicates that Sony is pushing for user-generation content with its next-generation games. According to the patent, Sony is introducing something called “scene tagging” that is used to |characterize user-generated content associated with gameplay information associated…

Assassin’s Creed 2020 is Ubisoft’s next-generation Assassin’s game. Over the past few months, many leaks came up and while some ended up being fake, it doesn’t stop new ones from popping up. However, take this new information with a major grain of salt as a similar leak was proven fake earlier. The next Assassin’s Creed game is called Assassin’s Creed: Kingdoms. The title is set in the early 1000s and you play a Danish Viking. There is no female character this time so you will be exploring Denmark, southern Sweden, Norway, parts of Ireland and England as a man. The entire story unfolds with a Saxon Kingdoms backdrop. According to the leaked information, the quests are so far the most interesting, one in Irelands has you searching for missing children down a well and it evolves into a Celtic folklore mystery quest. Meanwhile, another quest has the main character climbing…

New leaks confirm that the upcoming AMD Navi 2 cards will be announced at CES 2020. These are most likely the graphics solution that is going to power the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. While we will get to learn about these cards at CES 2020, it is safe to say that they will release later on. RDNA2 will introduce hardware acceleration for Ray Tracing but at this point, we are not sure how well the implementation is going to be. AMD has mentioned that it is working on Ray Tracing and that it is not going to release the feature unless it can be supported across the board. That time might be around the corner. According to a side, cloud computing is also going to play a role in Ray Tracing. This could have something to do with AI. We are not sure at this point but with CES…

Xbox Game Pass is getting CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3. An official announcement is yet to be made by Microsoft or CD Projekt RED. However, the Twitch ad leaked the game earlier today. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is seen among other titles like Devil May Cry 5 and The Outer Worlds, both games are already available on Xbox Game Pass which leads us to believe The Witcher 3 is next to arrive on the game pass. https://youtu.be/1jw2iCMuaHE The Witcher 3 is one of the best RPG games of this console generation. The game coming to Xbox Game Pass at this time can’t be a coincidence. It seems like a way to remind people of The Witcher universe and get them interested in the upcoming The Witcher Netflix series. Those interested in getting their hands on The Witcher 3 can grab the game pass for the following prices. 1…

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order release is just around the corner. However, the street date for the game has been broken in our region and we took the opportunity to play the game on PS4 Pro. I am happy to report that Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS4 Pro performance is solid 60 FPS, most of the time. Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order has two modes like most PS4 Pro games, performance and resolution. The resolution mode locks the game at 30 FPS with a higher resolution. The game holds 30 FPS quite easily with occasional single frame drops. The performance mode drops Jedi Fallen Order’s resolution to 1080p with 60 FPS. As I mentioned above, the game holds a solid 60 FPS. What’s interesting is that Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order on PS4 Pro doesn’t drop below 60 FPS even during heavy combat sections. The only time I noticed…

EA Origin and Steam are coming together after a long time. EA games like Battlefield, Star Wars, and others will be accessible through Steam. It is a smart move considering Steam’s large install base and EA’s Origin launcher isn’t the most reliable of platforms. We dug up another patent for you today which sheds some more light into how EA Origin and Steam will communicate with each other. We were able to locate a patent filed at the United States Trademark and Patents Office.  Electronic Arts filed the patent on November 12, 2019, and it is a very interesting read. It looks like EA will let unregistered Steam players access to EA Origin games. Players would still require an EA Origin account to play games via Steam but EA will create a guest account for you. Both Steam and EA Origin will link up with the same credentials, at least…

The Nintendo Switch is a very successful console that has sold millions of units since it came out in March 2019. Nintendo has done a great job of marketing the Switch and the new commercial features a man with Down Syndrome. This is a very positive ad with the theme “favorite ways to play”. I think that this is a very mature ad that shows the diversity of the audience and this is a very good business practice. Nintendo has also released a cheaper version of the Switch called the Nintendo Switch Lite. The lite has been very well received and plenty of people have already got it. It was sold out in most places at launch but it back in stock now. If you missed the latest Nintendo Switch commercial that features a man with Down Syndrome then you can check it out below: https://youtu.be/QwQbwaUps3U The original Nintendo Switch…

The new 3rd Generation of AMD Threadripper CPUs uses the new sTRX4 socket. This socket has the same number of pins as the previous socket but the mapping is different. This means that you cannot use an older Threadripper CPU with this socket and you cannot use the new 3rd generation CPUs with older motherboards. AMD has confirmed that the new AMD Threadripper sTRX4 socket is here to say which means that the upcoming 4th and maybe 5th generation of AMD Threadripper CPUs will support the same socket type. AMD mentioned why and had to say the following regarding the matter: We wanted to drive maximum performance for the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors and sTRX4 helps us do exactly that. The 3rd Gen Threadripper will have 88 total PCIe Gen 4 lanes with 72 usable (CPU+motherboard). The net of total versus usable is because we’re also increasing the…
