When you die in the game you will a chance to come back into the match by winning a 1v1 fight in the Gulag. In our Call of Duty Warzone Gulag guide, we will explain how the respawn system works and give you tips to win 1v1 battles.
Call of Duty Warzone Gulag – How to Respawn and Redeploy
Gulag is Call of Duty Warzone’s Gulag is a fight for survival area. When playing the battle royale mode matches, when you die for the very first time in Verdansk, your character will be sent to the Gulag to become a prisoner of war. The area is not part of the battle royale map so there is no way for you to reach the location otherwise. To be sent off to the location you must be downed and then bleed out. Of course, you can use self-revive kits and squadmate Redeploy tokens to mitigate this situation.
Once you are thrown into the Gulag, you will be alongside other fallen soldiers. You will then wait for your turn to face one of the other fallen Operators in the Gulag in a 1v1 fight. To respawn on the battle royale map you must win the 1v1 fight. Keep in mind that this happens only once. If you respawn and redeploy on Warzone and manage to die again, you won’t be sent back to Gulag for the second time and it’s game over.
Gulag 1v1 Tips and Basics
After you reach the Gulag a short cut-scene will play where your operator will wake up in the prison. You will then reach the area overlooking the 1v1 Gunfight. Here you will wait for your turn and while you wait, you will see others fight it out and can even throw rocks at them. When you 1v1 round starts your loadout will be random and HP won’t regenerate. Each round lasts 40 seconds and overtime begins when the flag spawns. Each player will only have a few seconds (3 seconds) to capture the flag and win the round.
If you don’t capture the flag or kill the enemy, the player with higher HP wins.
If you are new to Call of Duty, handling the 1v1 mode is going to be really hard. The pressure of 1v1 fights is not something everyone can handle. Even the veterans often struggle so don’t beat yourself up if you lose the fights in the Gulag. Practice makes perfect so to practice you must play the Gunfight mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
