How to Get “Gunless” in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

One of the trophies that can be somewhat annoying to get in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is called “Gunless”. To get it, you must not shoot a single bullet throughout the entirety of the “Alone” campaign mission. While you’re free to equip guns, shooting even one bullet will prevent you from getting the trophy. This may seem simple on paper but is pretty tough, especially on Veteran and beyond. In this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 guide, we have shared some tips that will help you get the “Gunless” trophy during the “Alone” campaign mission.

The mission has enemy patrolling the streets so you’ll need to rely on stealth more than anything else. As a general rule, it’s a good idea to see the movement of patrols before pushing forward — taking things a little slow is better than failing repeatedly. Other than that, there are a few tips that can hopefully help you out a little:

  1. You’re free to use your melee. Use it whenever possible.
  2. Trying to complete it on “Recruit” is much more manageable as opposed to “Veteran” or “Realism” where it becomes an absolute nightmare.
  3. Using a Crossbow will also nullify the trophy. It’s better if you stick to Smoke Bombs, Throwing Knives, Mines, etc.
  4. You can get an Adrenaline from a lockbox after disarming the “Shotgun Trap” which can help you get out of a sticky situation.
  5. Using bottles as a means to lure enemies can be very helpful. Alternatively, you can also toss a Smoke Bomb at a group of enemies to get to the next area.
  6. Near the end, Ghost will start helping you out a little by providing cover.
  7. While running toward the vehicle, it’s better if you stick close to the houses (left or right) instead of being out in the open. Once again, you should try to take things a little slowly as the enemy density in this area is quite a lot.

As soon as you get into the vehicle, you’ll get the trophy.

We hope these tips helped you get the “Gunless” trophy in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. For more tips and strategies, you can see our detailed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) wiki page.
