How To Fix Bus Simulator 21 Crash On PC

Errors and crashes are common among PC video games and Bus Simulator 21 is no exception. PC players are reporting that Bus Simulator 21 is crashing to desktop with UE4 crash error or crashing at launch. Here is how to fix Bus Simulator 21 crash.

How To Fix Bus Simulator 21 Crash

Before we start with the specific fixes let’s go through a couple of general crash fixes for the Unreal Engine crash and crash at startup. One reason why Bus Simulator 21 might be crashing to desktop could be that you are using third-party tools or software like MSI Afterburner or RGB Software. Disable any third-party software you are using and the issue will be fixed.

If the game is crashing at startup, the game might be lacking admin rights. Right-click the game’s exe > properties > Compatibility tab > check “Run this program as administrator” and hit apply. This should fix the game’s crash at launch issue.

In case the above fixes didn’t work, the following are the fixes for the Unreal Engine crash and crash at startup.

Unreal Engine Crash Fix

One reason for Bus Simulator 21 to crash with UE4 crash error could be DirectX 12. To fix the UE4 crash players have to force the game to use DX11. Right-click Bus Simulator 21 in Steam > properties > type -dx11 under Launch options. Launch the game and it’ll be forced to use DirectX 11 and the Unreal Engine crash error will be fixed.

If the above fix didn’t work, then your GPU could be the culprit. Either the GPU is overclocked or it’s not handling the game’s load really well. In case the GPU is overclocked, revert it to its default GPU clock. If the GPU isn’t overclocked then try lowering the graphics settings or use MSI Afterburner to reduce the GPU clock by 100 MHz.

Alternatively, players can cap the game’s max FPS to reduce the GPU load and stop the UE4 crash error to pop up. Open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings > select Bus Simulator 21. Enable Max FPS Limit and set the value for the game’s max FPS. This is a bit of trial and error to find at which FPS the game becomes stable. However, if you are playing at an unlocked FPS, then cap the game to 60 FPS. In case your current target is 60 FPS, then cap the game to 30 FPS.

Game Not Starting, Crash At Startup Fix

PC players are reporting that Bus Simulator 21 is crashing at launch or not starting at all. Here is how to fix this issue.

Your anti-virus/Windows Security might be blocking game files. Players can either disable the real-time protection or exclude the game’s install folder from it, I recommend the latter. The process varies from anti-virus to anti-virus. For Windows Security, open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > click Manage Settings under “Virus & threat protection settings” > click “add or remove exclusions” under “Exclusions”. Browse to Bus Simulator 21’s folder and add it. After that, verify the game files using Steam then launch the game and it won’t crash anymore.

Your PC might be missing or have corrupt Visual C++ Redistributables that is causing the game to crash at startup. Fix this by installing the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables both x64 and x86 versions.

That is all for our Bus Simulator 21 fixes for the crash at launch and Unreal Engine crash. If you are facing errors and issues with other PC games or your PC then also see our hub for commonly occurring PC errors and their fixes.
