PC case fans are crucial to keeping your components cool especially when you are doing intensive tasks such as gaming. Nowadays, PC case fans need to perform well and look the part as well. In this article, we go over some of the best RGB PC case fan kits that you can buy in 2024.

Best RGB Fan Kits To Buy In 2024

The following are some of the best RGB PC case fan kits that now not only perform well but look good too:

Lian Li UNI Fan SL120 3 Pack – Best For Cable Management

Lian Li UNI Fan SL120 3 Pack

The unique feature of the SL120 fans is that you can daisy chain them with one another which enables you to set up cooling and lighting without as many cables. Lian Li is known for top-notch build quality and you can expect the same from these fans. I myself have a pair of these installed on my personal gaming PC. They have been running fine for a few months now without any issues.

The fans have aluminum accents in the center and on the sides, which is a nice touch, and the RGB implementation is great too. The RGB lighting is on both sides of the fan, so you will have lighting regardless of your orientation.

It is worth noting that Lian Li has gone with the edge lighting approach rather than illuminating the fan blades. If you want the fans themselves to light up then you would be better off with another kit.

The kit does come with a controller, and you can use it to install up to 16 fans in your case. For lighting, you can use the software of your motherboard by connecting the controller to an ARGB header or you can use the Lian Li software by plugging the controller into one of the USB ports.

The Breakdown

The following is what we like and dislike about the Lian Li UNI SL120:

Pros:

  • Can be daisy-chained
  • Allows for better cable management
  • Great airflow
  • Premium design
  • Attention to detail
  • Plenty of room for expansion

Cons:

  • Lian Li’s software is basic

Thermaltake Riing Quad – Great Ring Lighting

Thermaltake is known for some impressive cooling products and the Riing Quad fans are one of them. You get a controller out of the box with the fans that allows you to connect the three fans included in the kit. Thermaltake has gone with a ring lighting design, so the fans themselves are illuminated. They are available in black in white.

The RGB implementation is excellent but you will have to deal with the long cables, and that will cause during cable management. While the airflow is decent and the fans do not make a lot of noise, the RGB is only on one side of the fans and there is no lighting on the back. It is also worth mentioning that the Thermaltake software is not good at all and might be a deal-breaker for some.

The Breakdown

The following is what we like and dislike about the Thermaltake Riing Quad:

Pros:

  • Ring light design
  • Decent airflow

Cons:

  • A bit noisier than the competition
  • Software is poor

Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB Elite – Best White RGB Fans

Corsair is the best regarding the software side of things, unlike other fan manufacturers on this list. The iCUE software offers great integration and customization across a wide variety of parts from various brands. The setup is similar to other fan kits on this list, and the included controller supports up to 6 fans. So you can add more down the line if needed.

It is worth mentioning that the included controller does not let you control the speed of the fans. You can only customize the lighting. To be able to customize the fan curves you will need the commander pro controller instead.

The fans are built well and provide decent cooling. They do not make much noise unless you ramp them up to the max. The blades themselves are illuminated, which is what most people like to see, and the overall design is very nice indeed.

The Breakdown

The following is what we like and dislike about the Thermaltake Riing Quad:

Pros:

  • Great build quality
  • Excellent airflow
  • Impressive software
  • Silent operation
  • Decent value for the money

Cons:

  • Requires commander pro controller for speed customization
  • Fans get noisy at max speed

Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Halo

MasterFan MF120 Halo has an exciting design, and not only are the fan blades illuminated, but the ring around the fans is as well. The kit comes with a compact controller tucked away behind your case’s back panel.

There are a pair of RGB rings so both sides of the fan light up, so you get lighting no matter which side of the fan you use. The build quality is very impressive indeed and keeping in mind the price point, I would say that this kit offers decent value for money.

The Breakdown

The following is what we like and dislike about the Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Halo:

Pros:

  • Great build quality
  • Excellent airflow
  • Silent operation

Cons:

  • Fans get noisy at max speed

NZXT AER RGB 2 – Best For NZXT Cases

The AER RGB fans use edge lighting, so the blades do not light up, but the RGB implementation is decent, and you get some impressive accent lighting. These fans are ideal for NZXT cases, and the controller supports up to 6 devices or 40 LEDs per channel, including fans and LED strips.

These fans are not as fancy as some other options available on the market right now, but you get plenty of customization. It should be mentioned that the NZXT CAM software is not great and does need some work.

The Breakdown

The following is what we like and dislike about the NZXT AER RGB 2:

Pros:

  • Great build quality
  • Excellent airflow
  • Ideal for NZXT cases
  • Great accent lighting

Cons:

  • CAM software isn’t ideal
