Grenade: Threadling Grenade

We recommend the Threadling Grenade since it works well with the Mindspun Invocation, which increases the functionality of the Threadling Grenade. It also allows you to consume the grenade to get five perched Threadlings. These will rotate around you and will attack the enemy one by one.

Mindspun Invocation

Grapple, Shackle Grenade, and Threadling Grenade get enhanced. The grapple melee spawns three Threadling eggs. Hold to consume the Shackle Grenade activates Weaver’s Trance. Final blows while the effect is active create a suspending detonation.

You can also consume your Threadling Grenade with creates five perched Threadlings. These will rotate around you and will attack the enemy one by one.

Weaver’s Call

Cast your Rift to weave three Threadlings and deploy any Threadlings you have perched. This includes all the Threadlings perched from the Threadling Grenade. So if you consume the Threadling Grenade and cast a rift then you can get 8 Threadlings.

Thread of Fury

Damaging targets with a Tangle grants melee energy. (-10 Strength)

Thread of Warding

Picking up Orb of Power grants Woven Mail. Woven Mail encases your body with a protective mesh of tightly woven Strand matter which greatly reduces incoming non-precision damage. (-10 Strength)

Threads Of Finality

Finisher final blows create Threadlings. (+10 Recovery)

Thread of Mind

Defeating suspended targets grants class ability energy.

Exotic Weapon: Quicksilver Storm (Catalyst)

Quicksilver Storm is an exotic auto rifle that is pretty good on its own but getting its catalyst turns it into a Strand weapon. The catalyst also allows final blows with grenades from this weapon to create Tangles. This will generate melee energy thanks to the Thread of Fury aspect.

Exotic Gear: Swarmers (Leg Armor)

The Swarmers leg armor has an exotic perk with the same name, Swarmers. This perk spawns a threadling when you destroy a Tangle. The Threadling will unravel targets that they damage.

Unravel means that the target is permeated with destructive Strand matter and as they take additional damage they create unraveled projectiles that seek out nearby targets. Unraveling Rounds from Strand weapons will pierce through the shields of Barrier Champions and stun them. Unraveled targets unwind into a Tangle when defeated.

Artifact Mods

Destroying a Tangle with a Strand weapon suspends targets damaged by the explosion. This means that they will be held up in the air and will not be able to damage you back while you are free to attack them.

Authorized Mods: Grenades

The armor energy costs of all armor mods affecting grenades are significantly discounted.

Armor Mods

Void/Strand Dual Siphon

Rapid Strand and Void final blows create Orbs of Power.

Powerful Friends

Collecting an Orb of Power causes nearby allies to increase their current Armor Charge by 1.

Heavy Handed

Powered melee final blows create Orbs of Power

Grenade Kickstart

When grenade energy is fully expended you gain grenade energy. Your armor charge is consumed and you gain additional grenade energy for each stack. We recommend using two of these mods for increased potency.

Charged Up

Increases the maximum number of stacks of Armor Charge you can carry by 1. We recommend having two of these mods to increase the max number of stacks to 5.

Reduces grenade cooldown each time you pick up an Orb of Power. We recommend getting two of these mods in order to increase the effects.

Stacks On Stacks

Picking up an Orb of Power grants 1 additional stack of Armor Charge.

Reduces grenade cooldown when using your class ability. We recommend getting three of these mods in order to reduce the grenade cooldown. This will be possible with the Authorized Mods: Grenades Artifact Mod.

This is the best Strand build that we can recommend for Warlock in Destiny 2. As we progress through the new season more aspects will be unlocked and we will update this guide accordingly. To learn more check out our Destiny 2 guides hub.
