Elden Ring has all sorts of different challenging enemies for you to take on. While even the regular mobs can take you down, there are difficult bosses, and Maliketh, The Black Blade is one of them. In this Elden Ring guide, we are going to go over how you can beat Maliketh, The Black Blade.

Maliketh is a massive boss but it is also agile. You first meet the boss as the Beast Clergyman and the encounter has two phases. For this boss battle, we recommend having high defense, a strong shield, and upgraded armor. The Icon Shield is going to come in handy during this battle and the lessed Dew Talisman is also recommended as it is going to regenerate your health overtime automatically.

Beating Maliketh The Black Blade In Elden Ring

We recommend summoning spirits for this encounter. Use the best ones that you have such as Mimic Tear. The boss can attack pretty quickly so your window is going to be pretty small. If you see the boss dragging its blade then you should be ready for its uppercut attack.

If you are at range, then you need to dodge rocks and incantations that the boss can use. You can use the pillars around you in order to protect yourself from rocks and boulders. During the first phase of the fight with Maliketh The Black Blade, we recommend using sorcery, Bleed, or Scarlet Rot damage. Once you have drained the HP bar of the boss to half, the second phase of the encounter is going to start.

Phase Two

During the second phase of the Maliketh boss fight in Elden Ring, you will get to see the real face of the boss. The boss will now have a large greatsword and will be even faster than before. The attacks will fortunately be more obvious and will allow you to dodge them.

Watch out for when Maliketh jumps into the air and when the boss uses projectiles. Also, if the boss slams its sword into the ground, then you need to move out of the area in order to avoid area of effect damage.

We recommend taking your time and using status effects to your advantage. If you land enough hits to the boss then it will be staggered and you will be able to land a critical strike.
