How To Change Class (Respec) In Baldur’s Gate 3

To change your class and respec in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to find a lich named Withers. Once you wake up, you will start recruiting companions such as Astarion, Gale, and Lae’zel. After meeting Shadowheart continue heading north and you will find the Overgrown Ruins. Here you will be tasked to explore the ruins. While there is a lot going on here you need to search for Withers.

Head to the crypt. To enter into the lower areas of the crypt faster, you can drop the suspended rock on the broken floor to make a hole in the ground and then jump inside. Explore the area to find tombs that you can open. Open the main sarcophagus to get the Watcher’s Guide and a key to the next section. Opening the main sarcophagus will activate the traps if you have not disabled them, so you will have to run.

Head over to the opposite side and open the final room using the engraved key. We recommend saving here. Head to the back of this room, and you will find a button on the wall that opens up a secret room. Here you will find a final sarcophagus that you can open to find Withers.

Withers Baldur’s Gate 3 Respec

How Respec Works

After you free Withers, you can talk to him at the camp. He will allow you to bring back party members from the dead for 200gp and you can respec or change your class for 100gp. Once you change your class the level of your character will reset to 1. You will keep all the XP that you earned and you will be able to add points into your attributes just like the character creation menu. So even after you respec and change your class, you will be able to level up to where you were before.

It is also worth mentioning that any member of your party can talk to Withers so you can make changes to default party members as well.

This is how you can respec and change your class in Baldur’s Gate 3. To learn more about the game, check out our guide on how you can talk to the dead. You can also check out our Baldur’s Gate 3 guides hub.
