There are a total of 9 playable races in Baldur’s Gate 3. You’re required to choose one of these during the character customization screen. Having unique historical backgrounds, sub-races, abilities, and buffs, each race in Baldur’s Gate 3 brings something unique to the table. Dwarf

Abilities Sub-Races Racial Features

Halfling

Human

Githyanki

  • Decadent Mastery: Become proficient in an additional language.
  • Martial Prodigy: Increased proficiency with shortswords, longswords, greatswords, light/medium armor.

Half-Elf

  • Fey Ancestry: Unable to be charmed and can’t be put to sleep through magic.

Drow

  • Drow Weapon Training: Increased proficiency with crossbows, rapiers, and shortswords.
