During Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3, you will arrive at the Shadow-Cursed Lands. If you stay too long in the dark areas, then your characters will take damage and lose HP, except for Shadowheart. The following are all the different ways in which you can gain protection from the Shadow Curse in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Torches

Early on, you can use torches to light up your way and move through the Shadow-Cursed Lands. These are not effective later on as you progress through the region and will become useless. Forcing you to pick another way of protecting yourself from the Shadow Curse.

Isobel’s Blessing of Selune

When you come to Last Light Inn, you will meet Jaheira. You will also meet Isobel, who creates a barrier around the inn to protect it. A battle takes place here, and you will need Isobel to remain alive. You can check out our guide on how you can keep Isobel alive.

Moonlanterns

Moonlanterns negate the effects of the Shadow Curse and can be very useful. You can get one from Kar’niss the Drider. You can check out our guide on getting the Moonlantern for more details on how you can get one.

Pixie’s Blessing

Pixie’s Blessing is obtained from a Pixie, and there is more than one way of getting it. If you got the Moonlantern from Kar’niss the Drider, then you will learn that it is powered by a Pixie. You can then choose to release the Pixie or keep it in the lamp, which could harm the Pixie. If you decide to free the Pixie, then it will reward you with the Pixie’s Blessing. The Pixie’s Blessing is permanent, so you can explore the Shadow-Cursed Lands freely without worrying about taking damage.
