Violence (animated or otherwise) being depicted in media is not inherently new. The Romans watched gladiators compete in battles involving high risk to life, modern-day viewers watch MMA for similar reasons. Though translating this demonstration of violence onto the screen has been a task that came with its fair share of controversy. Be it the original films depicting violence and gore all the way down to the latest games.

Human curiosity and technological innovation have only made sure that entertainment keeps pushing the edge of what is acceptable for human consumption. Video games started out as tame as one would expect, with a game of ping pong. As technology became better, so did our ability to create new interactive experiences.

Our story starts with the creation of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (“ESRB”) and its original attempt at setting the standard for what age group can play what game. And just like any story, it came with its sets of twists, struggles, and confusions.

Many a group found an excuse for inexcusable behavior. It was easy. No-face corporations through their products are corrupting the youth; it can’t be because of anything else. Sound familiar? That’s because the same tag-line was used for describing Dungeons & Dragons the tabletop RPG when it originally came out. As one longtime D&D player and expert put it:

“[W]hen opportunistic hucksters wanted to beat the Devil, they’d point to Dungeons & Dragons. Not‘roleplaying games’ but ‘Dungeons & Dragons’. Remember when video games were going to destroy our kids? Imagine if there’d only been one video game.”

The Games Cause Violence Narrative

Politicians have been very quick to blame not just video games but anything that can come within reach as the real reason behind real-world problems. Perhaps due to lack of understanding, maybe just a lack of awareness or just a general unwillingness to tackle actual root causes of deviant behavior within human beings, anything being consumed by populace (media or otherwise), particularly if its new has been the historical scapegoat to provide a narrative base for why the next apocalypse will come about.

“Politicians on both sides go after video games…it is this weird unifying force,” said Patrick Markey, a psychology professor at Villanova University who studies video games.

While some research has suggested the violent video games can cause a slight rise in aggression after being played, Russell Shilling, chief scientific officer at the American Psychological Association, said such cases are a small subset of the population. He was quick to note that aggression doesn’t mean violence and that much of this research has been misrepresented in the media.

Recently the United States President reiterated the games cause violence mantra it was met with the highly critical response the world over. Though with the statement made by the President, we have already started seeing outlets take aim at censoring video game content. Walmart removing video game advertisements in-store (still selling guns though) and the APEX Invitational Highlights Broadcast being delayed.

Consequence for E-Sports

So what is the eventual consequence? As the rescheduling of the invitational demonstrates, that when push comes to shove, video games will take a back seat to the whims of policymakers. E-Sports is currently riding a very high wave, with gaming being far more popular than ever and some of the biggest cash prize pools to date (Bugha’s winnings in the Fortnite World Cup).

Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube along with different social media platforms have not only accelerated the adoptions of video games into the mainstream zeitgeist but the birth of a new form of celebrity.

With talks again about censoring content in video games, E-sports which thrives off games that involve elements of violence may then just see themselves off the air, though this happening is doubtful, a conversation has indeed started, one in which a lot of possibilities may be brought about a for an industry that is growing rapidly in a non-regulated space.

If companies thought the possibility of regulation around loot boxes was troublesome, regulations demanding censorship could inherently just shut the project down by making them unfeasible.

The question we now have to ask is what’s next. Where do e-sports and games head from here? Truth be told, there isn’t really an answer. With the sheer amount of uncertainty brought about through recent events, the audiences and those involved in gaming and e-sports need to be very loud about the content they consume and how all research has shown that what government is saying at this point in time is inherently incorrect.

Remnant: From the Ashes is available now and it is not an easy game to dive into. Here are some tips and tricks that you should keep in mind if you are interested in playing Remnant: From the Ashes and are jumping in for the first time.

Remnant: From the Ashes Tips And Tricks

The following are some tricks and tips that should be helpful if you are playing the game for the first time. These tips are helpful for first-timers and veterans of the genre.

Shoot Wooden Objects

Shoot anything and everything that is made of wood. Doing so drops scraps and materials that you can use later on in the game. This is true for the base and the overworld. You can also use your melee attack if you do not want to waste ammo.

Use The META

Do not be afraid of the META. You can change your loadout at pretty much any time. You can change weapons at the base and even in the middle of boss fights.

Buying Starter Gear

Starting gear such as weapons, perks and armor can be purchased from the appropriate vendor. This can be done after selecting your class and playing the game for a bit.

Multiplayer Ammo Is Not Shared

The ammo that you find is not shared between different players. Make sure that you are not picking everything up and leaving other players with nothing at all.

Friendly Fire

Be vary of friendly fire as it can be a major issue in some of the boss fights in the game.

Death Means Nothing

Remember to have fun in the game. Death is not a big issue and is only a minor set back in Remnant: From the Ashes. You get to keep all your gear and other items.

These were the helpful tips that you should keep in mind when playing Remnant: From the Ashes. Have fun playing the game.

If you are interested in learning more about the game then be sure to check out our guide on how you can change the difficulty setting of Remnant: From the Ashes.

Remnant: From the Ashes is available now and if you are playing the game then you will notice that it is not as easy as it might seem. Things do get better as you progress through the game but you might want to change the difficulty setting when playing Remnant: From the Ashes. In this Remnant: From the Ashes difficulty guide, we are going to walk you through how you can change the difficulty of the game.

How To Change Difficulty In Remnant: From the Ashes

There are three difficulties in Remnant: From the Ashes, Normal, Hard and Nightmare. If you have progressed through the game a bit and are interested in increasing the difficulty of the game then you can do that. In order to do so, what you need to do is reroll your world. You can do that by heading over to the giant red Warp Stone in Ward 13.

Interact with the Warp Stone in order to reroll your world. When doing so, you will need to start from the beginning but you will keep your upgrades, items and traits. When you reroll the world, you will get the option to change the difficulty setting for Remnant: From the Ashes.

If you have set the difficulty of the game to hard of nightmare and are stuck somewhere then you can use this method to change the difficulty of the game. You will be able to progress much faster using the normal settings. You will also be able to get more scrap and materials and you might even find some useful equipment on your journey.

Going through the missions all over again can be a long thing to do but that is the only way of changing the difficulty setting at the time of writing.

This marks the end of our Remnant: From the Ashes difficulty guide.

Disintegration is a new sci-fi shooter being developed by the people that brought us Halo. In disintegration, players can pilot a gravcycle and command AI teammates in battle. The game has a touch of Halo, especially when it comes to looks and graphics but it is different in other aspects.

V1 Interactive’s president and creative director, Marcus Lehto talked about Disintegration and here is what he had to say about it:

The way we’re developing the game is thinking of you as the pilot, the gravcycle as your right hand, and your crew on the ground as your left. You are a unit together, not two separate entities.

Lehto also talked about the different mechanics of the game and he mentioned that the devs have tried to make things as simple as possible. Here is what he had to say regarding the matter:

We try to keep the mechanics as simple as possible for directing them to locations or targeting specific units,. We wanted to limit the amount of micromanaging you’re going to do because you also have to play a shooter at the same time.

Disintegration is set 150 years in the future where humans have integrated their brains into robots in order to survive a deadly pandemic. Lehto explained that at the end of the day people want to go back to being human. That could be the reason why the game is called Disintegration.

Disintegration was supposed to be a 4-5 hour long game but Lehto has confirmed that the game now has 13 missions which will take the average player roughly 10-12 hours to complete. We have already got a teaser of the game but new footage is going to be revealed at Gamescom 2019 during Opening Night Live this Monday. So stay tuned for more details. The game is expected to release in 2020.

It will be interesting to see how the gravcycle works in Disintegration and how it is going to be different from the Sparrow in Destiny 2. It will also be interesting to see how the game is different from Halo and other sci-fi shooters.

In a world now dominated by the Forzas’, Gran Turismos’ and GRIDs’, where does the pioneer of the racing genre now actually lie?

When you use to think about racing games, The Need for Speed (NFS) moniker was used synonymously with the genre. Having its humble start in 1994 with the release of “The Need for Speed” and the rest, as they say, is history.

Being handled by multiple studios, differing creative directions and so many revamps, this was a franchise that was once hailed as unbeatable only to see the genre it spawned being handed down to younger, dynamic and streamlined franchises. Why one might ask? Why is it that others took over? Of the many reasons, stagnation in development, no unified sense of creative direction and no particular focus towards development over the brand during the later years.

The Need for Speed

From being a pioneer, the NFS franchise though still beloved (albeit nostalgically) has become a gimmick oriented game that happens to have raced in it. Its staying power and player retention has seen better days.

So what does the once formidable giant need to do now? What does it need to do make itself, relevant again? Originally the answer came in the form of spin-off series that borrowed the police chase mechanic of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit which was the Need for Speed: Underground series. What followed was a double-down on the story and RPG elements that Underground brought to the NFS series with the occasional return to simulation racing ala the NFS: Shift Series. From Underground, all the way to Payback, narrative-driven racing and an emphasis on the fantasy of the police chase or being the police have more or less remained a central point.

And with its latest offering Need for Speed: Heat, it seems that Ghost Games (the developer behind the very well received NFS: Rivals) seems to be turning the underground dial up to 11. Electronic Arts (EA) describes NFS Heat as “the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy” and it will take place in the fictional location of Palm City.

The game deepens and expands everything Need for Speed fans love – expressive customization, authentic urban car culture, and an immersive narrative that pulls you into the game,” As EA said in a statement….Need for Speed Heat sends fans to Palm City, a brand-new open world where street racers have gathered to make their names known.

With a small snippet of a trailer, it seems the franchise is returning to its underground roots with a fresh coat of a neon-80’s theme. Clearly taking inspiration from older titles in the series, the game seems to be focusing on an arcade-style racing experience with the police chases very clearly at the forefront. But is this enough?

One very humble browse of any online storefront would show that NFS isn’t in the gaming zeitgeist as of late. Though with that being said, a well-executed NFS game that provides a strong theme coupled with a good narrative with its usual gimmicks can do well. Ghost Games has its work cut out. Re-establish the Hot Pursuit style of play, couple it with a strongly connected narrative and bring the racing power-fantasy to the forefront. And all of this in the world that is used to racing simulators, but a world still looking for the rush of adrenaline that only an NFS game can bring.  Though from the pre-order details it seems the game will have microtransactions, which isn’t a great start to the race to release.

Release Details

NFS Heat is stated for a November 8, 2019 release on the Xbox One, PlayStation® 4, and PC.

If you pre-order the standard edition will get a K.S Edition styled Mitsubishi Evolution X.

Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition adds three K.S Edition styled cars (BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport), access to exclusive deluxe edition character clothing, and increased earnings of in-game currencies Bank and Rep.

Sacred Sword Princesses from Nutaku has now got a new character called Cumbie. The new character has been made in collaboration with illustrator Naidong. Naidong explained how much hype the character has got and that it was all unexpected.

Released initially in late 2018, Cumbie gained much heat among anime lovers and has since been
recreated several times by fans as a cosplay character and as a figurine. Sporting a thick long braid and a
sexy string costume, the animated version of Cumbie hides a plug behind herself that players can simply
pull to undress her and satisfy their sexual fantasies.

Nutaku Sacred Sword Princesses

Here is what Naidong had to say about the new Nutaku Sacred Sword Princess character:

I’ve designed a number of characters for non-adult games. However, some of the best essences can only be incorporated into 18+ games. Cumbie is a very sly character. I wasn’t expecting so much hype around it; I just created what I wanted. Now I am glad that fans love it.

If you have not played Nutaku Sacred Sword Princesses then let me tell you that In the kingdom of Midgardia, inhabited solely by women, gamers are summoned to protect the virgin land. With the help of rare powers, players can entice and recruit a team of Vessels, and level them up to defeat the legion run by the evil Beast. By taking advantage of the fast-paced battled system, players can either choose to fight manually or turn on auto mode and jump on to the lovemaking scenes!
