Ingots are needed to upgrade weapons and armor in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. There are 3 types of Ingots in the game i.e. Carbon, Nickel, and Gold. Carbon Ingots are the most basic ones and are needed to upgrade from ‘Fine’ to ‘Superior’. Once you’ve got sufficient Carbon Ingots, head over to Gunnar to upgrade the gear. In our Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla guide, we’ve provided an overview of how to effectively farm Carbon Ingots.

How to Get Carbon Ingots in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

As you progress through the game, you’ll need to constantly upgrade Eivor’s gear. By doing so, you’ll unlock extra Rune slots, get additional upgrade slots, and sometimes even change the appearance of the upgrade gear piece. One thing to keep in mind, however, is upgrading a gear piece doesn’t alter its stats. Increasing the stats of a gear piece requires materials like Leather, Wood, Titanium, etc.

As for farming these Ingots, Ubisoft has cleverly linked them to different regions. Depending on the Power Level of a region, you’ll mostly find a specific type of Ingot there. Keeping this in mind, the best regions to farm for Carbon Ingots in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla are the ones that are somewhere between 20 to 55 Power Level.

While roaming around such regions, always search the areas with golden dots or ‘Wealth’. Whenever you head close to a golden dot, it will change its appearance, displaying what the chest actually contains – it can be a gear piece of an Ingot. Ingots are represented by a ‘bricks’ icon. Whenever you see one, open up the chest to get an Ingot.

Alternatively, you can also assassinate Elite enemies and they’ll sometimes drop Ingots. Again, the type of Ingot you get depends on the Power Level of the region you’re in. In addition to this, some other ways of getting Carbon Ingots in AC: Valhalla include:

  • Trading Fish
  • Hunting Deliveries
  • Buying it from Merchants for 350 Silver
