Armored Core 6 Stutter Fixes That’ll Help

Performance issues are common in PC video games, and recent PC ports, for some games, have been even worse. From Software games on PC often have performance issues like stuttering and FPS drops and Armored Core 6 is no exception. The recent addition of Ray Tracing effects to Elden Ring worsened the performance on PC as without them the game has optimization issues and the lack of upscaling tech like DLSS or FSR didn’t help.

However, PC users often find a way to improve performance and in the case of Armored Core 6, they have found a workaround to fix stuttering and improve the overall performance of the game on PC. The following are the fixes that’ll help PC users fix stuttering and performance in Armored Core 6 on PC.

Play Offline

Apparently, playing Armored Core 6 online causes stuttering and FPS drops, and playing the game offline fixes these issues. To play Armored Core 6 offline on a PC, you have to rename the executable. First, right-click Armored Core 6 in your Steam library > Manage > Browse Local Files. A new window will open with game files.

Click on Browse local files to open a new window with the game files

Open the “Game” folder and rename the “start_protected_game.exe” file to anything like “Immortal.bkp”. After that, rename the “armoredcore6.exe” file to “start_protected_game”. Launch Armored Core 6 through Steam, the game will run Offline, and the stuttering will be fixed.

Exclude CPU 0 From CPU Affinity

If the above fix didn’t work, don’t revert it and keep it as it is, as this workaround only works if you play Armored Core 6 offline. Launch Armored Core 6 and minimize it > open Task Manager > Details tab > right-click “start_protected_game.exe ” > Set affinity > uncheck CPU 0 and press OK. Play Armored Core 6 and the stuttering and performance issues are now fixed.

Open Task Manager, go to the details tab, right-click the application the exe, and select Set affinity.
Uncheck CPU 0 and press OK.
