How To Play Animal Crossing New Horizons On PC

Animal Crossing New Horizons is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch but you can play the game on PC with the Yuzu Switch Emulator. In this guide, we are going to go over how you can do that. The Yuzu Switch Emulator is now able to run Animal Crossing New Horizons on PC but note that you are going to need a pretty decent PC in order to run the game.

Also, note that the game is going to work better on Nvidia graphics cards for now as Yuzu’s Vulkan renderer does not work all that well. In order to play the game, you will need to download the update to the latest yuzu Early Access build. Once you have done that, you will need to install any update to Animal Crossing. Note that the base version of the game does not work using this method but any update works.

Add this patch (attached to this post) to Animal Crossing’s “mod” folder in yuzu. Add this mod by right-clicking Animal Crossing in your game list, clicking “Open Mod Data Location”, next simply extract the patch into this directory.

That is all that you need to do. If you have followed the steps correctly then you should be able to play Animal Crossing New Horizons on PC. You can see the game running on PC in the video below:

We recommend turning off real-time audio by going into the audio settings. You should also run the game with OpenGL renderer.

Yuzu Switch Emulator is not the only way you can play the game on PC. You can also use the Ryujinx Emulator. You can check out the game running on the Ryujinx Emulator in the video below:

Until the game comes to PC (if ever), these are the two ways in which you can play it. Enjoy! If you are interested in learning more about the game then you can check out our Animal Crossing New Horizons guides hub.
