Relics are religious artifacts in Age of Empires 4 that work similar to sacred sites. Meaning that if you have them on your site then they can generate gold for your overtime. In this Age of Empires 4 guide, we are going to go over how relics work and how you can take advantage of them.
Relics In Age Of Empires 4
Relics are golden objects that have a yellow flag coming out of them. You can find the hidden across the map in different locations. You can have your scout look around the map in order to find them but you will not be able to capture them until later on in the game when you have a religious unit. Except for when you are playing as the Holy Roman Empire, which has access to the religious unit (Prelate) from the start.
Once you have found a relic and have a religious unit you need to have the religious unit walk over to the relic and then pick it up. You then need to have the religious unit bring the relic back and deposit it inside your religious building. Once the relic has been deposited, it is going to earn gold over time. You can have multiple relics inside your religious building at a time in order to get bonus gold.
Note that you can keep a relic inside a keep to give it 50% more armor. If you find yourself under attack and your keep is in firing range then doing so is going to increase your defenses.
