Diablo 4: How To Start Abattoir Of Zir, Event Details

The Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir event goes live on December 5th, 2023, towards the end of season of blood (season 2). This is the pinnacle end-game activity, which is much harder than nightmare dungeons and even tougher than tier 100 nightmare dungeons. In this Diablo 4 guide, I go over how you can start the Abattoir of Zir and the details of the event.

How To Start Abattoir Of Zir In Diablo 4

The Abattoir of Zir is the pinnacle hardcore activity in Diablo 4. So, while there is no level requirement, it is recommended that you be level 100 in order to stand a chance of surviving and completing runs in the event. If you die, you will be kicked out of the dungeon since there are no revives.

How To Access Abattoir Of Zir

To access Abattoir of Zir in Diablo 4, you first need to complete the seasonal journey. Even if you have not played it, the seasonal journey is reasonably short and does not take long to complete at all. Once you have completed that, you can head over to The Occultist and craft a Tier 1 Bloodforged Sigil. This is similar to how you craft Nightmare Sigils, but these are more expensive. A Tier 1 Bloodforged Sigil will cost you 800 Sigil Powder along with 60,000 gold. You can then use the Bloodforged Sigil to start the Abattoir of Zir event, which is located in Ked Bardu, Dry Steppes.

Abattoir Of Zir Event Details

Completing runs of the event will reward you with the new Tears of Blood Unique Glyph, and you will need to complete more runs of Abattoir of Zir in order to level up the Unique Gliph. The glyph has a max radius at level 50. Abattoir of Zir has a total of 25 tiers with max enemy levels of 160 and max glyph XP cap of 17,800.

Other Details Of The Event

  • Abattoir of Zir Afflictions Are Unknown: You will not know about the afflictions in the Abattoir of Zir event until you are inside the dungeon, unlike Nightmare Dungeons.
  • Completing Timer: Unlike Nightmare Dungeons, there is a time limit that you need to take into account in the Abattoir of Zir event. You need to complete the run in 10 minutes. You will be required to kill enough enemies to fill the progression bar and summon the bosses.
  • Blood Seeker Bosses: While a typical Nightmare Dungeon has a single boss at the end, Abattoir of Zir will put you up against three Blood Seeker bosses.
  • No Revives: There are no revives in the event. If you die, you will be removed from the activity and will need to start all over again. This applies to multiplayer as well. If a member of your party dies, then you will need to run the event again.
  • Dynamic Event: The event is dynamic, so the type of mob and the layout of the dungeon will change each time.
